ABOUT THE DAY

International women’s day commemorates the social, economic, and political achievements of the women. It is a day to celebrate appreciation, love and respect towards women. Gender equality should be perceived as a notion that liberates not only women but also men from the prescribed gender stereotypes.

    • SPECIAL HIGHLIGHTS

      • A mass rally, where women from 41 wards/ panchayats from Dharamshala Consituency was organised. They wore #BeBoldForChange badges, which was also the INTERNATINAL WOMEN’S DAY CAMPAIGN THEME. They marched from Dari Mela Ground to Dari ITI and Nirankari Bhawan.
      • More than 7000 women had gathered. They were honoured and were boosted to participate on this special day.
      • Artistries of the students enrolled in the 3 month course on cutting and tailoring, were exhibited. The course caters to more than 20000 + women from the rural areas and backgrounds.
      • A beautiful idol of the Goddess with an engraved message on ‘international women’s day – women empowerment’ was distributed to every women present on the event, as a token of honour.
      • Various segments of women such as entrepreneurs, contributors, mothers to single girl child were honoured as well.
